Welcome to Steps SA

Kathryn is a Chartered Psychologist and Accredited Psychotherapist and all the team are accredited counsellors with several years of experience.
We know that many people find life challenging – for lots of different reasons. We want to support people through those challenges and we use our skills to do exactly that. We have experience working with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, trauma and abuse, relationship difficulties and spiritual abuse.
We believe it is very important to continually update skills and knowledge. Kathryn’s recent work is in the field of Spiritual Abuse and in Child Abuse linked to Faith & Belief. With her colleague Dr Lisa Oakley Dr Kathryn Kinmond wrote & published the first academic text on Spiritual Abuse in the United Kingdom.

What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is about LISTENING and SUPPORTING you to clarify and express feelings about your experiences. It is not about telling you about how you should feel or what you should do. We will listen to you and to help you to explore issues and experiences that are of concern to you; to understand how you are feeling and what is, and has, happened to you. We will not judge you or what has happened to you. We are interested in helping you to understand yourself and your experiences and to explore ways of making your life as happy and satisfying as possible.
